If Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, Mahalia Jackson, Prince and Hozier decided to get together to make brand new music infused with an eclectic array of modern flourishes and electronic production techniques, what would it sound like? It’s a question that animates Vault49’s original work, which draws on all of those influences and many more. The result is a broad, branching tree of composition grounded in American Traditional and Roots, but variously featuring elements from the album era of Pop, Rock, Soul and Funk, the British Invasion from the 60’s through the early 2000’s or all of the above rolled together. It's a compelling array of distinctive, fresh sounds. The musicianship is informed and authoritative. Insightful lyrics and emotionally charged vocal performances sit front and center. Across genres as disparate as Electronica, dark American Gothic or Neo Disco, Vault49 tracks share an underlying life force, vocabulary and creative flair that marks them as part of a dynamic whole. They play well together.
